OBLITERATIA
Obliteratia is the independent web studio of Will Akers

One person,
working closely.

I work directly with clients from the first conversation through launch—and beyond. That continuity matters: the person listening to the story is also the person shaping the structure, assembling the site, and sweating the final details. After launch, I can stay with it through hosting, maintenance, updates, and ongoing content.

01

Listen first

The strongest direction usually arrives through the client’s references, language, audience, and odd details—not from imposing a house style.

02

Find the structure

Complex bodies of work become useful when people can understand where they are, what matters, and where to go next.

03

Make it particular

Typography, imagery, rhythm, and interaction should add up to a site that could belong to no one else.

The right
starting point.

Some projects begin with a blank page. Others begin with an existing site, framework, or theme worth transforming. I choose the approach that serves the work, then shape the typography, imagery, structure, content, and final experience around the client.

Between erasure and authorship

Make room for a voice that could belong to no one else.

I discovered the word Obliteratia in Blake Butler’s Scorch Atlas. To me, it suggests a place where generic language, default structures, and familiar design habits are deliberately erased. What remains is the literati part: ideas with authors, work with a point of view, and a digital presence shaped by what it has to say—not by the template it inherited.
